Help Getting USB Flash Drive to Work

Hi I have had trouble getting the Wii to work properly. I got homebrew to work correctly, at first it wouldnt open applications but now opens apps including a usb loader prog. I am tryin to test it on a 8 gb usb flash drive before buying a hard drive for it.

I think i did update the drivers to use the USB correctly but when searching for a usb game the program just hangs there. Considering homebrew opens apps now is it modded correctly or how do I tell??

I think the problem may be using a flahs drive or putting the games on the flash drive, I am trying to use WBFS manager and from a 4.3 GB update moded game ISO it puts 380 mbs on the flash drive is this normal??

Any ideas or suggeestions on how to find out what I am doing wrong will be much apreciated.

Yes its called scrubbing, If you don't know what that is search for that term, As for getting it to work, It just may not want to work... I have used a 4gb toshiba to test games and it does work, Your usb stick just may not be compatible.....

did you install a cios rev installer because the only way for a game to work through usb loader is to have a cios rev on your sd card in the apps folder and go to it via homebrew and install it...and any cios rev over 14 you
need the wad file ios38-64-v3867 on the root of your sd card for the usb loader to install and work

Maybe I need to buy another cheap usb compatible to test if it works or not?? (id rather buy another cheap usb then go straight out and get a usb hard drive which I cant use on it, do you think this is a reasonable idea or go straight for the hard drive?)

Flash drives have patchy compatibility but USB Hard Drives are much more compatible. Still do your homework (research which models work) and pick the right one. WD My passport essential 250, 320, 500GB all work excellently but are a tad more expensive than your bargain bin solutions. Or take a change on a cheapo USB enclosure and a redundant hard drive. Some bloke paid 7USD for an enclosure and it worked.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

honestly depending on your funds...every wii that i mod i always buy a western digital 1tb my book essential and i'm 1000 percent sure that this brand works......in the u.s it only cost 100 dollars...so its entirely up to your pockets...but go with this one if you have the money for it.......and the games may seem bigger then what they are but it's normal to see a game thats smaller then when you first download....now after you get this drive and i hope you do because its great and if you have issues playing through a loader after using this drive its something u did wrong in your installation of your files so basically yeah go for the drive to know for sure if its you or the flashdrive you used previously

Before I switched over to hard drive I used a usb thumb drive to rip to in order to make back up discs on the PC. I found that ripping speeds varied greatly between brands of thumb drives. I went to a large computer store, bought about 5 different brands at once, found out which had the fastest rip speed, and returned the rest. Hard drive loading is definitely a lot more convenient, but that's another option if you want to test it out. If you decide you do like it better you could always return your thumb drive(s). I would recommend WD hard drives as well.

I have actually just found another USB hidden in the draw that the Wii was able to read. Unfortionalntly when Neo Rom finished the loading screen the Wii black screened. I am tihnking along the lines of 1. Becasue the rom can be detected and loaded does it mean it can always be run?
    2. If it can be run how can I figure out what has gone wrong with trying to mod the Wii? its taken me long enough to be able to get Neo Rom to be able to load, but I do also have usb loader on my com is it worth trying?
