Hey, I recently bought a Wii and was thinking about getting a DriveKey for it. I checked Wii Drive Chip Database for my serial number and there were no results for LU722. Anyone know if its compatible? Thanks.

hi i have the same wii with a drive key but i am sure it will not work couse off the new chip from the dvd drive
so what i did was i went to a mod side where there sell drives with key install already you can say what key you like to have cost 119$ complete

True enuff krank but if he was correct and has D3-2 drive, he'd have to shell out dough for a non-D3-2 drive or USB HD (so in that case, not so much as "free")
Your right, for some reason I didn't think about having to buy the HD. When I first did the softmod I had a few hard drives that I wasn't using so I didn't have to buy one.Quote:

Hey, thanks for the replies, but I decided to softmod it instead, which I did last night. Much simpler than I thought it'd be. I'm glad I didn't shell out 60 bucks for the chip. And I can't decide whether to buy a 3.5 drive (I already have an enclosure) or a 2.5 external to use, since the 3.5's need power adapters. Also the price between a 3.5 and an external 2.5 of the same GB size, the 2.5 is way more expensive. Anyone here use 3.5's?
