Just softmod Wii and burnt games nor external HD will work

I Followed everything from this guy on youtube. Here is the link:

After i did that i burnt Zelda Twilight... onto a dvd-r Sony and Memorex - Neogamma said Disk Read Error 1020 or some kind of number like that. So i did some research and someone said that the new Wii's will not play burnt games that it will need an External HD. So i got up went to walmart and purchased a new 500GB WD My Book with model# WDBAAF5000EBK-NESN. Brought it home hooked it up on pc and just drag and drop. Then researched more and i formated with WBFS 3.0 64bit and then loaded the games like that. So i plugged the HD to the Wii and then went to the USB Loader that pops up with Configurable USB Loader with like a power switch beside it. And from there its froze i have to unplug my wii to just turn it off. I also tried Neogamma with the USB load and it counts down from 30 and nothing happens. I do have it in the correct USB also. Thats where im at. So can anyone give me any tips how to stop this USB Loader from freezing bc it works fine w/o the external HD plugged up. So i think just maybe i didnt do something correct to the external HD. Please help as ive been reseaching and tring for over 6 hours now. Thanks

Youtube=FAIL. You need to use either the guide in my sig or this one>>http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html. I am not sure if you can do it over what you have done already or not, but someone here will know.

Yes, FailTube ain't the way. I do suggest you virginize your Wii; that thread can be found under Recommended Guides (before you attempt the "right" tutorial as the other poster stated).

Did you set your HDD to primary and/or active before you formatted it to WBFS format? Why not check the tutorial here at wiihacks on how to set up a USB HDD to use with your Wii.
