Us Lost SD card??? Need good advice.

    Hey guys:

It's been 3 weeks now and I have not found the sd card. Needless to say, I don't think its going to show up. I hacked the wii from original version 3.1 to 4.1 following dogegg's guide to the tee. Thing is, after I finished the hacking, the wii wasn't working right, right off the bat. I think maybe a file(s) were currupt. That's why I am wondering if I can simply just start the hack procedure over again with all new files. Can I do that???

Here are my options as I see them. Please chime in if you think there is an better way...

    1) I need to know what an sd card should have on it including folders and subfolders once the wii has been hacked to operate with an external hdd and using Usb Loader. That would require the names of whatever files and folders and where they should be placed on the sd card.

    Or:

    2) Can I simply start dogeggs guide all over again and re-hack the wii?? I would do this without removing any vital ios's(but re-installing them also) to make sure procedure was done properly and end up with an sd card with the proper files and folders??? I understand this might be overkill, but can I do it??? Yes... No???

    Or lastly:

    3) Can I just move on and use messies guide to update to version 4.2??? This wouldn't bother me either.

Basically, I am ready to do whatever it takes to fix this problem and I don't mind putting the time in that it takes. I would like to take the proper/safest course of action here. I just want to get yer done!!!

    Thanks

    Now then,
What wasn't working right? Thers's no harm in re-installing IOS's that you think maybe corrupt.

    Regards

    Ok:

I think I got most of the items back on the sd card and I have access to hbc channel. I have my wii games on a compatible WD usb drive. I took the wii from version 3.1 to 4.1 using dogeggs guide. I have usb loader set up as a forwarder. When I start it up, it begins to load the page and then the wii dumps. The big black page of death!!!!

So I loaded usb loader just regular, not a forwarder. It says it has to load the page in 16:9 format, I click ok and a couple of seconds later it returns me to the wii main menu.

    What do you think???

    Thanks

Are you trying to load the usb loader from the sd card or from a fat32 partition on your hard drive?

I use wads for my usb loaders and install them as a system channels via wad manager. It takes a little more space but I prefer the convenience, if my son is playing and I need the sd it can be removed without affecting gameplay.

If you place the wad file of the loader in sd Root/wad and install via wad manager from HBC, you will not need the sd card at all after that.
