Question #002 Original Disc Possible Fix

    EDIT**********************************

    FIX
The working theory seemed to be uninstall priiloader or HORROR install cIOSCORP.

As i'd rather have it installed to boot to HBC as I only have Bootmi as IOS, so may possibly be corrupted priiloader?

    re-install Priloader......

    Well that didn't do anything.

What DID fix the issue by uninstalling priiloader for these other people?

FIX - Turns out that the updated install I had Force Disc Games to run under IOS249 enabled by default.

Disabled this, save settings, exit to HBC, shutdown, restart

    Original disc working a treat!!

P.S. The issue IS re-created by enabling this hack in Priiloader.

    ************************************************** *********

Ok, so the other night I updated from 4.0E to 4.1E using safe updater.

    Re-installed Priiloader. Re-applied hacks.ini

    All good so far.

Went to play sports resort from original disc today and got #002 error.

I did comment on my updating thread how all IOSs were the same versionetc exept that IOS50 (ver 4889) was now missing (direct comparison of signcheck before and after update).

I do know this was for system menu 3.4 but now obsolete. I did pose the question as to why this would be on a new (december) 4.0E unit.

    Anyone come across this before?

Should I try to re-install IOS50? (bearing in mind I have NO boot2 protection)

The pre-mod WSR save data is still on the wii, and I never needed to use alt dol before, not suprising as the game is NOT on my HDD but played from original disc only.

No other changes apart from 4.0 > 4.1

Perhaps some of these old, mothballed, IOSs have some function after all.

    Any opinions?

IOS50 v4889 has no function other than being System IOS for 3.4, it's stubbed as v5120 in higher System Menu revisions. It's not needed provided you never downgrade, in which case you'll need to install IOS50 v4889 to cover your accidental upgrade route.

    Yup - have wiiflow but....

I appreciate that have wiiflow but this game is not ripped to HDD, perhaps I should have posted in lounge?

I just find it interesting to figure out.

My only question is what is it about IOS50 that allowed it to play before?

Based on looking at the only thing that is different on a modded 4.0 and the same mods on 4.1 For all the other IOSs even the version numbers where the same pre and post update.

I am playing original disc from disc channel, have the new drive that will not play burnt discs (not that I want it to, my mod is all about conserving the life of my drive).

I'd like to install IOS50 again to see 'if' WSR will play again (just to get to the bottom of this)

Any possible problems with doing that based on bootmii as IOS?

    EDIT*****************************

Thanks Tealc, but i'm an inquisitive thing. Any Idea why it would be on a retail 4.0 unit if stubbed in later menus? or is it just stubbed in 4.1 & 4.2?

WSR does not need IOS50 v4889 or v5120, I know this as I don't have any IOS50 on my Wii. Installing it on 4.0 is fine although I will be very surprised if it makes any difference.

    Cool mis-communication, now on 4.1E

OK when I was on 4.0E I had the following in sign check
"IOS50 (ver 4889)", Disabled, Disabled, Disabled, Disabled"

WSR disc ran fine from the disc channel.

Everything else, IOSs and versions are the same via safe 4.1 updater but this IOS is now missing.

Now that I am on 4.1E, original disc no longer runs via disc channel.

I don't really want to mess about with any title deleter if this IOS is stubbed in 4.1

BUT, If it is possible to re-install on 4.1 (without downgrading to 4.0) I would like to see if the suprising is possible i.e. if it does indeed make a difference.

Appreciate you guys are busy helping others with problems so no hurry (and the suggestion to move to lounge if not relevant here), but wierd issues like this bug me, if they didn't i'd never have got to the bottom of other issues in the past, like a dog with a bone ... LOL

You didn't have cIOSCORP installed before did you?

Grab IOS50 v4889 and install it http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...ownloader.html You can remove it afterwards without problems (although we normally say to never uninstall IOS under 200)

Thumbs up cIOSCORP - No fffffffflaky way!

cIOSCORP - Instant fail, I read many different sites tuts but only ever followed info here, thats why I donate and get stuck in as much as I can.

I thought so too (about IOS <200) and quote from my post created during safe upgrade.

OK, after a bit of scroogling, it seems this is used by system menu 3.4

Strange considering it was bought a few montha ago and was on 4.0E straight out of the box!![/B]

Hindsight is a bit scary, by updating I inadvertently uninstalled an IOS below 200!!!

    The plot thickens...WTF

RIpped the game to HDD, no issues, remembered saved miis, scores etc.

So re-installing IOS50 (ver 4889) made no difference, original disc=#002. (it is still in dogeggs tut so why not install it anyway)

As WSR uses IOS55, re-installed IOS55 (ver 5406) made no difference, original disc=#002.

Just opend a BRAND NEW WSR disc (my mate gave me a new copy when I bought his unwanted motion plus), new original disc=#002.

Playing WSR is not the issue, its original discs not loading thats freaking me.

Is my drive going nutz? It ripped the game fine?

    So baffled at this moment.

Exclamation Original Disc #002 error fixed

Ok, had a read around, my copy of wiifit worked fine but some people had the error with wiifit disc.

The working theory seemed to be uninstall priiloader or HORROR install cIOSCORP - thread here.

As i'd rather have it installed to boot to HBC as I only have Bootmi as IOS, so may possibly be corrupted priiloader?

    re-install Priloader......

    Well that didn't do anything.

Dunno if there is method in my madness or madness in my method, but at least I can sleep now!! (These things REALLY do bug me!!)

    Hope that helps someone out.
