Exclamation Transfer NAND backup from microSD to PC

I have successfully backed up my Wii's NAND to a Kingston 2GB microSD (w/SD adapter). The card was formatted to FAT32 using the Panasonic formatting tool provided in Dogegg's tutorial.

There are three items that I'm trying to transfer to PC to burn onto CD for safe archiving:
    - bootmii (folder)
    - keys.bin (created by NAND backup procedure, but not mentioned in any tutorial to back up... but just in case...)
    - nand.bin

The problem I'm running into is while transfering the 540MB nand.bin, the microSD card disconnects from the PC and the transfer stops.

This seems to be a large file transfer problem. Is this caused by the FAT32 file system? I've tried using PureSync and TerraCopy as a transfer protocol on top of just drag-and-dropping from microSD to PC, but no joy.

    Copy and paste?

Have you tried copy and paste using right-click rather than a drag-and-drop?

Not heard of that issue before.
Thank me or Spank me but leave some feedback

Sounds like a corrupt SD Card, do you know how to run FS checking software (like scandisk?) on your SD Card before it is all lost?

You may have to do the process all over again, have you got a non-micro/flash card to use to do the nand backup?
Please remember your manners - say Thank You if someone helped , it doesn't hurt

    Thanks for your quick suggestions.

I figured it out. Adapter failure.
I think it took too many adapters to get to my PC. I had purchased a fancy SanDisk MobileMate SD+ USB adapter to read my other SDHC cards. I think that combined with the microSD-to-SD apater made the whole contraption crap on itself.

    microSD>SD adapter>Sandisk SD+ USB dongle>Front USB add-on bay = epic fail

I was able to find an old microSD to USB adapter, and plugged it into my system...and ta-da, it worked!

So, the less jumps to the PC the better.
