Launch date WII with CYLOWIZ have'nt used in a longtime

    Hey
I have a launch date WII with CYLOWIZ mod that I have not played in a long time (approximately a year and a half). A ton of stuff has happened in the WII modding community since I have played my WII.
Can i play the new games? Should I update, or not?
I am not really interested in homebrew. Is there anything I should do or not do to be able to play the newer games like Super Mario Brothers WII.

    THanks!

What system menu are you on? You can stay where you are and install the correct IOS for the games you want to run. There are other issues for NSMB which you can find solutions for on this site with a quick search. Or you can follow the guides to safely update your wii. Hope this helps.

For "completeness" I would follow one of the guides in the tutorials section for your specific System Menu version as this will get you up to date on playing 99% of games. And as Krank has stated there is a guide on how to get NSMB to work properly due to it's inclusion of BCA [burst cutting area]. The ISO has to be patched to play correctly.

I don't recomment updating to 4.2 though, you can still modify it if you do, but it's not advised. Since you have a launch date Wii, I sstrongly recommend you install BootMii to your boot2 and make a NAND backup. This will help if you were to ever brick your console.
