    Timer for the Wii

    Hello,
i was wondering if there is a sort of timer that can shut down the Wii at a pre scheduled time.
For my pc i'm using pc auto shutdown but i can't find any for the Wii.
I need this because my son can't stop by himself (he's autistic) and the pc auto shutdown is working fine for him
    i have a softmodded Wii 4.2

It might exist, but I've never heard of it. Doesn't seem that there would be that much of a demand for that sort of app. Have you considered using a second remote to secretly power it off at the same time? (I work for my county's board of developmental disabilities so I understand your situation.) Hope you can work something out!

Lightbulb Do it at the main socket

You should be able to get a segment timer from most electrical suppliers. Works just like the timer used for most central heating systems and is often used as an anti-burglar device to start electrical devices when you are away so that would be burglars think there is someone home, eg small lamps, radios etc.

Plug this into the mains or extension lead then the wii power cord into the timer. Power will only be provided during the times selected on the segments.

You may have to do a bit of 're-wiring' to get the wii plug and timer out of reach.

I would still wait for others to reply as to how 'safe' suddenly cutting power to the wii is though, just to be safe.

    Hope that helps you out.

P.S. Make sure you are not doing an update/installing wads etc when the power is due to go off !!!

    hello,

    bigjat69:
i was already thinking about a timer between the power cord but was afraid of messing up the Wii because of the sudden "power stroke"

    junkmailturds:
For this board maker program i have to keep the pc running?
We say to him that he can play (for example) till 4 o'clock and we agree on that before he's playing but still he's getting mad because he wants to finish a level.
Now i'm telling him 10 minutes before it's time that he has to finish a level otherwise his progress will get lost but it doesn't help that much....

and because this timer on the pc works fine i want to have it on the Wii as well.

but again thank you very much for your input

    This was my worry too

If no other solution is found you could always switch off the TV using a timer.

You could possibly try this program allarmii blitter
It does not shut down the wii, but you can set a timer that when alarm goes off, it can give you a visual or audio alert. You could maybe teach your son to respond to them.
It says it has other capabilities too.
