    To add a FAT32 or NTFS partition besides the WBFS partition.

    Partition it two ways or three ways

    1. WBFS = for wii games
    2. FAT32 = VC/Wiiware Games
    3. NTFS = For movies and other stuff

    make sure that you mark the WBFS side as active and primary or else you wii games will not be read by the loader....

    Sorry, but that's twice I've just seen this, WBFS does not care if it is active or not, there was surely some poor advice going round when this system was being implemented and guides being written. It is way much preferable that the FAT32 is the active partition.

    And as for even going down the route of WBFS, it's just totally unnecessary, many managers & loaders support full drives of just a single FAT32 partition now, so why even bother with WBFS is beyond me.

    As for the OP - please, go & read the tutorials, every question you have asked today has been asked and answered in the tuts threads.

    WBFS = 500gb (150 games + or - depending on size)
    FAT32 = 30gb (Wiiware/VC)
    NTFS = the rest (Movies and Stuff)

    there are programs like MplayerCE that will read the partiiton and play the movies....

    Look HERE for info on playing .avi files.....

    Sorry, but where do you come up with such sizes, is that just a wild guess?

    I'm not having a go here, but advice is sometimes taken as fact, and what we write in this forum can be taken as gospel by some and they will go away and do exactly what is suggested.

    Questions for the OP need to be asked, such as:

    Is all the drive for Wii, or PC & Wii use? If all the Wii, then there is no need for a NTFS partition, at all.

    Secondly, if you want to play Wii Games, watch Movies and/or TV Shows, play Music, play WiiWare, then why bother doing WBFS, WBFS only allows you to play games, and that's it, FAT32 you can do everything, and you can see it all in a Windows Machine.

    If people have never seen WBFS, then as at today I would recommend they stay well away.
