Thanks to all on this post. I was reading it through since I just modded my Wii last night and I couldn't get it to recognize either my Sandisk 2GB MicroSD in USB adpater or my iProDrive 1TB hard drive. Both were formatted with WBFS and a game ISO 'scrubbed' onto it by WBFS Manager 3.0. I'm running what I assume is the lastest USB Loader GX but it does the 30 second countown for your "slow USB device" and then goes back to the Wii menu. And there's a green bar at the bottom that flashes while it's counting down. I should mentioned I installed the full channel version of GX. I think I'll uninstall that and go with running it through HBC and a forwarder. Or try another loader altogether like WiiFlow for Configurable USB Loader.

Regardless, it's back to the drawing board tonight. I'll try formatting my SD and HDD to FAT32 and see what happens. I also bought a 1TB WD My Book today. It's on standby in case I can't get my "no-name" brand HDD to work. :-)

I have Mplayer_CE installed with channel forwarder

    3 Folders on the drive:-

    WBFS - 100 Games
Movies - 50 Divx Films fo the kids
PC - Game managers & Formatter

    Works a treat !!!!

NSMB isn't DL and only about 300MB on HDD, on a fat32 drive the games are split into 4GB chunks by the game manager and put in a folder bearing the 6 didgit game code.
The loader plays the game as if it was just one file, when in effect it could be 3

    Question on this ?

Does this mean you have 3 actual folders such as
    D:\WBFS
    D:\Movies
    D:\PC

This also means that you are still reading off your SD card correct? Cuz my SD card has like 10 different folders in the root directory.

Which brings me on my second question.

If I plan on running everything off the HD is there a way to minimize on the amount of folders on the root directory?

So in otherwords have it something like this.

    D:\SDCard
    D:\WBFS
    D:\WiiWare
    D:\PC

or does everything in the SD card (which contains loaders/homebrew) need to be i the root directory. THANKS
