    Anyone return a modded wii?

I have a 4.2U modded wii and I want to know if I return it if they are going to find out its been messed with or do I need to virginize it? Im a little unclear on what ive read about making the 4.2 virgin.

What do you mean return it? Send it to nintendo for fixing, or returning to a store?

Sorry return to store. My brother tried returning his unmodded wii in the box of the wii I modded and that didnt work so now we need to return the one I modded. He paid $50 less for the one I modded so I wanted to return that one and mod the other one.

    I dont know, who knows.

Thats really dirty though, you might be screwing over another customer.

    For example:
Hard working dad buys wii for kids.

    Wii doesn't work

Dad sends wii to nintendo for fixing.

Nintendo says, screw you dad, you tried to softmod it.

    WTF!

Just bad all around, you should man up and try to fix it, or take the loss for messing it up.

Its not messed up at all. It works perfectly fine. I doubt the store is going to rebox it and pretend its brand new when its not.

Yeah, its working now, but what happens if in 6 months, when new guys wii is out of warranty, and nintendo decides to release another update that messes up softmodded wii's. The guy that gets your 'modded' wii is getting screwed over no matter how you look at it.

There is the paranoia aspect of your returning it to the store.

The store sends it to Nintendo for testing.

    Nintendo find the mod.

They get your details from the store.

You get a knock on the door from whichever department of law enforcement deals with piracy in your country (I assume your in the US).

Then you ass fckd because they look at your pc and all the pirated movies, games, music, porn, applications etc etc.

I would hate to think how much money my backups would cost to buy.

I know I couldn't afford to buy what I have that's for sure.

Then you end up in court and have to pay for all the licences for all this software.

Oh and they confiscate all your stuff too.........

But that's only if you are paranoid that is.

You could always return it and say it keeps freezing, that way you know they won't resell it.
