    Twilight Hack needs modifications to play some games

    Hello everybody,
    I own a Wii with some friend and, in the past, one of them did the twilight hack on the console in order to install Backup Launcher.
    Now, the skilled friend has gone, and some new game is not running anymore on Backup Launcher. I would like to upgrade the Wii both to play new games on it and to install USB Loader. I was wondering which is the best way to proceed:
    - Upgrade to firmware 4.1 following the tutorial on the forum;
    - Install only some IOS necessary for the games (yes but which ones);
    - Something else.
    Thank you in advance for your answers and suggestions.
    Bye.

    I was forgetting: the firmware installed on the console is version 3.4E.
    Thanks again for the hoped answers.

    The guide on this site will update the cios, install any ios files currently needed, install a better loader, and update your system menu to a more stable one. If you allready have bootmi, dvdx, and homebrew channel installed, you can skip that part. Download the files and begin at the step where it says to install cios rev14. This is the 3.1-4.1 softmod guide.

    Thank you oddgriffin for the help,
    so I should better update to 4.1 because the 3.4E is not so stable.
    Reading material on this site, I understood I have to follow some step:
    - install BootMii and make a backup before proceeding (also Priiloader if bootmii is not on boot2)
    - install WAD manager and update IOS60
    - update to system menu 4.1 (following the guide)

    As I understand, DVDx is an alternative to Backup Launcher, shall I delete this last one?
    Thanks again.
