A Channel can be ran without an SD Card?

A Forwarder looks like a channel but is actually run off the SD Card files?

Something run from Homebrew has to have the SD Card present?

Thanks for the help by the way, will install the loader tonight.
You are wise. The Wii calls them both channels, but in Wii hacker speak a "Channel" = complete install of a program on the Wii's NAND memory and a "Fowarder" = a channel that automatically loads a program from HBC and SD card. Correct me if I am wrong, gentlemen.

I think you are the wise one dudeman1st. That makes a lot of sense what you said as I figured that the Wii has some memory of its own. This machine is unbelievable.

    That is correct,

However, just to clarify a little further,

"Something run from Homebrew has to have the SD Card present?"

No - not really, it has to have a boot.dol inside the app name inside the apps folder of your HBC boot up choice, which can be an SD Card or USB HDD or USB Stick, it all depends on where you run your HBC from.
Please remember your manners - say Thank You if someone helped , it doesn't hurt

    Thumbs up

I appreciate all the info guys! I originally had someone do the soft mod for me so I did not know anything about what files were used, what versions of things I had, what Ios was installed, I was lost. That is, until I found this site and did a heck of a lot of reading, downloading and testing. Thanks for everything!
