Red face Can all models be softchipped?

    Hi all
Can someone please help me. I am looking at buying a wii (possibly second hand or maybe new) and wondered if all wii's can be soft chipped to play back ups.
Also is soft chipping the wii the best way to go to play back ups?

    Thanks
    Amber

Yes all can be softmodded. However if you buy a wii with a newer drive, (d3-2) it will not be able to play DVD-R. In this case, as with me, you can launch backups from a USB HDD. In fairness HDD is the best way to go anyway, so to me it doesnt make much difference.

Id say go for the softmod.

a chip and softmodding are completely different things.

Thank you for that? Is getting it chipped or soft modded the better one to go with?
Sorry for the silly questions but I am new at this and seems all so confusing!
