    Wii update code 73112

I have a softmod Wii & have not connected to the internet before. I am running version 4.1e.
Everytime I try to connect to the net using the Wii I get asked if I want to install a Wii update with code 73112.
I have always said no to this but then cannot connect to the net.
Is it safe to allow this update or will my softmod go pear shaped??

    Hope someone can help

If your at 4.1 now then the update is for 4.2(homebrew killer), If you want to update still, search the forums for how to properly and safely update to 4.2. Do not update through nintendo as this will most likley remove your homebrew and possibly brick your wii. read, read, read! hope this helps.

    Dont upgrade STAY at 4.1.....

What you want to do is go into the wii settings menu and click on wii connect 24 and shut it off... Basically when you are connecting the wii to the i-net it sends out a ping to nintendo update server and sees that you are not on the most current firmware and then nintendo shoots back a request to update... if you shut off wiiconnect 24 it will not go out and try to update..
