    Hi everyone

I have a black wii (4.2) that i have already updated (for being able to open the shop channel)
am i still able to do softmods?
another question: is the sd card only neccesary once for the modding part or also during playing too (looking for using the usbloader)

    thx in advance

Yes you can still softmod it, just make sure you follow the correct guide for your system menu and read and understand each step befor you do it. DO NOT skip any steps!

I leave my SD card in while playing games because I have all my game covers for USB Loader GX on it. I have USB Loader installed as a channel so I dont need the SD Card in the Wii to play the games on my external harddrive. However without the SD card in none of your homebrew apps will show up either.

I had never tryed to Load the games without the card in but i just did right now and that was the result. hope this helps.

Just tried it now by copying my apps folder from my SD card to my USB HD and it loaded the apps from the homebrew channel but it seemed to Load Slower then when I normaly load from the SD card. So yes it is possible if you have a FAT 32 Partition on your harddrive. I put the apps folder in the ROOT of the FAT 32 Partition.

Note: Mplayer CE Did not function when on the HD. My other apps however, worked fine(emulators).

    hope this helps
