    Question Following Dogeggs guide..preloader hacks.ini issue?

    OK everything went sweet untill steps:

    b). Open the Homebrew Channel and load Priiloader, press + to install. After install, your Wii should reboot and load the Priiloader menu. If it doesn't, turn your wii off and on again whilst holding down reset and it will load the Priiloader menu.

    Menu loaded while pressing power and reset

    c) Select 'system menu hacks' in the Priiloader menu, and enable the hacks that you want - 'skip disc update check' and the region free ones are all you need. Select 'save settings' and wait for confirmation message to display 'settings saved'. Press B to go back, and enter Settings. Set 'Autoboot: System Menu' using D-Pad, then select save settings. Press B to return to main Priiloader menu.
    this just gave me a white screen that then went back to the preloader main screen.

    Followed the install again, nothing.

    Had a look at Dogeggs hacks.ini file it was version=449 (USA 4.1)

    took the code from the wiibrew site for 4.0E version=418

    and then preloader tells me "error found more offsets than values at line 39"

    made sure that last line was blank before saving.

    any ideas folks?

    thanks in advance

    I am pretty sure the answer to your question is here on the site somewhere. I have a 4.2U system menu and I sucessfully soft-modded it using the guides - and I have preloader installed. I had similar problems with the hacks.ini file. You need to make sure that you only have the lines included in the hacks.ini file that are for your region.

    Keep at it - I know you can get it working I did! I think I also had to make sure I had the correct version of priiloader installed for my system menu.

    Talking 4.0E hacks.ini fix - The only time Dogeggs guide didn't work for me - Ur a * bro

    If you take the 4.0E hack.ini from wiibrew it is malformed!!

    I looked at the source code for preloader (pretty anorexic odds for a newb - see we aren't all bad)

    if( hacks[hacks.size()-1].value.size() > hacks[hacks.size()-1].offset.size() )
    {
    //printf("Error 9: syntax error : found more values than offsets at line %d\n", line );
    PrintFormat( 1, ((640/2)-((strlen("Error : found more values than offsets at line "))*13/2))>>1, 208, "Error : found more values than offsets at line %d", line);
    hacks.resize(0);
    Copy EUR 4.0 from Preloader/hacks - WiiBrew

    search for "offset=0x8152D194,0x81530640,0x8152D67C,0x813B60F 0,0x81530640,0x8137D428,0x8137D704,0x8137D6E4,0x81 37D420,0x8137D6E4,0x8137F4B4,0x8137D428,0x8137D42C
    value=0x60000000,0x4E800020,0x38000001,0x480000280x4E800020,0x60000000,0x4800001C,0x38000001,0x38000001,0x3800 0001,0x38600001,0x900DA5D8,0x38000032"

    replace with "offset=0x8152D194,0x81530640,0x8152D67C,0x813B60F 0,0x81530640,0x8137D428,0x8137D704,0x8137D6E4,0x81 37D420,0x8137D6E4,0x8137F4B4,0x8137D428,0x8137D42C
    value=0x60000000,0x4E800020,0x38000001,0x48000028,0x4E800020,0x60000000,0x4800001C,0x38000001,0x38000001,0x380 00001,0x38600001,0x900DA5D8,0x38000032"

    BOLD in the "search for" and "replace with" shows malformed comma delimination of code.

    Hope that helps a few people out and in some small way repays the they people that paved the way.

    Suppose the number of thanks will go to making this stickied or added to another tut/guide or something.

    First time on this particular scene I've found a fix for something a thread search or even go0Glingcount find an answer for!!

    This happened to me. If you are having the same problem as I have, it is because you have to hold the B button when you press +. Then reboot and hold the reset button.

    Didnt try that to be honest

    Dont know which version or area you're on and i didn't try that as i was following Dogeggs tut to the letter. Also i thought that was to force to a certain ISO rather than a general setting for your console (i may be wrong though).

    As a total noob (as you can see from my post count/threads) i was petrified of deviating from the given steps.Glad its fixed tho.
