Question Copying NAND backup to 2nd Wii?

Hi all, hope you can help me!

I successfully managed to get my own nintendo wii patched, and I can now run backups of games without any problem. Some games give errors... but I haven't got around to fixing that yet.

My friend has a nintendo wii also, but that has been updated to v4.2e and no matter what I do or how many guides I follow I cannot get the thing downgraded or the patches installed!

I have been following various guides, and when it gets to installing the cIOS, I try to load the program from homebrew and the Wii instantly freezes (no buttons work, the controller disconnects, and I have to hold the power button to turn off).

Unfortunately I have tried alternatives and the Wii also crashes on many of them. On the two occasions that I did manage to run the program "cIOS38_rev14 Installer", when I try to install I get the error "install custom ios error -ret 2011"

Anyway, my idea is that seen as my Wii is working, can I do a NAND backup in BootMii on mine and restore it onto my friends? Would this essentially add all of my patches onto his?

If this would work, that would be quicker and easier... probably safer too.

If not, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for such a long post, anyone that can help out will get a free cookie sent to them.

No, a NAND can be extracted and transferred to another Wii, but you need the encryption keys from the recipient Wii (i think), as well as an infectus mod chip and some mad soldering skills.
