    Reverse 'Softmod for Dummies'

    Hi Guys,

About a year ago I softmodded my Wii with V3 of this guide Wii Softmodding for dummies using the Twilight hack. I'm still running v3.3E

Now I want to reverse my softmod (virginize my Wii) so I can run the softmod again so I install PriiLoader and BootMii, following a guide such as this from Dogeggs http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

Is the tutorial http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...ii-virgin.html applicable to my softmod method? Or should I be looking for something else?

    What's the best way forward?

    Thanks.

You don't need to remove your softmods, just follow the guide as is. Everything will install over what you have now.

Awesome! Thanks mauifrog. I'll give it a shot in the next few days and report back in case it helps others. Cheers for the prompt response!

I can confirm this as working. Thanks again again mauifrog for the advice.

One final question. I made a backup of the NAND as per the guide - is the backup usable even though it a backup of an already softmodded Wii? I have BootMii as boot2 and Priiloader setup in case of the worst, I'm just not sure if its too late to take the NAND backup if I'd previously applied the softmod.

    Thanks again.

The nand backup you did now is a backup of everything on your wii as of now. So if you brick you will be able to restore your as it is now (with current softmods that work)

Having bootmii as boot2 means you should be able to recover from almost any brick! Lucky you! lol

The NAND backup is of whatever is stored on the NAND at that moment in time.

NAND backup may be taken at any time. And as you are lucky enough to have boot2 you can restore any one that you want. Someone explained it in another thread as "think of it as a restore point in windows".

In short if you took your backup when there was softmod in place then that is what the wii will be retored to.

    Hope that helps.

EDIT.... Had reply open for a while, didn't realise it had been answered.
