SMB update with a modchip question

I haven't been on the forums in over a year and a half and haven't been playing wii in awhile. I tried searching for help but it seems as though everything is software mods now.

I got a D2Pro V2 installed back when it came out. It works fine for all my older games, but I just bought a copy of Super Mario Bros. It is telling me that I need to update and then gives me a warning about bricking if I have modded my Wii. Is this something I need to worry about with a chip? If so, how do I get around this?

    Thanks for any help

Unless you softmod, you will have to update from disk. This will take you to 4.1 and should not brick you as you have nothing software related on your wii.
