Neogamma and USB Loader GX Locking Up

So I'm trying to mount my USB HDD, and it locks up in Neogamma and also locks up using the USB Loader GX?

Any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix this? Do I need to reinstall something?

Most likely faulty installation of the cIOS. That or incompatible USB interface enclosure.

We're going to need more information before we can help out.

What kind of lock up - black screen, green screen?
Where does this happen - when you launch the apps, while browsing, when launching a game?
    Console/homebrew specs? Firmware?

Without knowing more, try reinstalling your cIOS, sometimes it gets a bad install.

Well I had everything working before. My buddy formatted my WBFS drive and partioned it for NTFS and FAT32 so you could view your wii files.

It locks up in the loader and says initialize usb device.

It locks up in the gamma right after I say mount device.

    What Cios should I reinstall?

I used all the files in the softmod tut for a 4.2 wii firmware.

cIOS38rev14. You could also try running the hermes 202/222/223 package. Instructions and download link in the 3.1-4.1 guide I believe.

Sounds like a cIOS issue. Just for the sake of saying it, make sure you're in the outermost usb port. Depending on how big the drive is you could try backing up your files and reformatting, or try a flash drive or other usb device, to rule out your hard drive malfunctioning.

At this point I'm not what I should do. Pretty much confused and frustrated with the whole thing.

Ok I kinda got somewhere with it. I just used the Loader and it found the partition of FAT32 and loaded all the files. When I went to play it, blank screen, nothing.

Do you think its because its a FAT32 instead of a WBFS??

My buddy uses the FAT32 just fine.
