Ca Bootmii - missed important step - help?

Ver 4.1u loaded HBC pack w/ dvdx and bootmii. When I installed bootmii as boot 2 (which was a success) I did not select bootmii again and install to IOS. How can I go back and finish? I tried reformatting Sd card and loading the boot.dol/elf. no go. ?? I appreciate anybodys feedback.

Dude, you don't want to install BootMii as an IOS. You have bootMii as Boot2. Its an either or choice mate.

You have it as Boot2 which is the best way.

I suggest you format the SD Card and place everything from the original pack back onto the SD card. Then, go to the Wii menu, Data Management, Channels, SD Card and select Yes to load boot.elf.

Then select BootMii and choose "Prepare an SD Card".

Then exit and return to the Wii Start Page.

The follow the guide through to make a NAND backup.

Ok, I must have been confused reading the guide and I do not want to go any further without the protection. So I had assumed this is my problem.

Prepare an SD card is what I did not complete then.

But I will try again to "format the SD Card and place everything from the original pack back onto the SD card. Then, go to the Wii menu, Data Management, Channels, SD Card and select Yes to load boot.elf."

It did not have the option to select yes to load boot.elf

I do have a armboot.bin, bootmii and ppcboot.elf in a folder i stored on my PC. Reading all these guides and tutorials has made my brain hurt and I am confused on what to do with them. My wii does not load into a boot screen like what I have been reading.

    OK.

I am assuming you are using Dogeggs Guide to 3.1 - 4.1 hacking. Is this correct??

For the first step of the guide to install the Homebrew Channel, DVDx and BootMii, you need to repeat this. You don't need to install them again, but just get to that point. You are essentially starting from scratch.

The reason for this is that the program writes files to the SD card to allow the installation and the running of BootMii. This can be replicated by selecting Prepare SD Card rather than installing BootMii again since it is already there.

Right now, you have BootMii install as boot2. You would like to start BootMii so that you can create a NAND backup.

Actually, I phoned the guy who intalled my hard mod almost a year ago and asked how I could get NSMB to work. He emailed me some links and I pieced it together.

If I already have the files how do I open bootmii to start a NAND backup? It will still not allow me to redo the first step of the guide. Just have blank slots on my SD card when i plug it in.

If the files for BootMii are on the SD Card, then the BootMii should start when the Wii is powered on, providing the SD card is in the slot.

Neogamma works other than the msg saying i dont have ios249. If I know what I'm doing then continue. (which I don't). But I did and it seems to play games. Even Wii Sports Resort. which I was not able to play off disc before.

This is because when BootMii is installed onto the Wii, it creates files and adds them to the SD card. You may not have these files on your SD Card as the card hasn't been prepared. Basically you only have the installer on your SD Card and not the others which are created by the installer.

Where did you get your files from??

I got them from the hack_mii_installer_V0.6.

When I loaded the hack_mii_installer_V0.6 I installed HBC, DVDX and bootmii. If I have these 3 files(armboot.bin,bootmii.ini,ppcboot.elf). would that mean bootmii prepared my SD card?
This was a few days ago and I'm sure my biggest problem is that I did not follow one guide and now I don't remember where I left off.
Thanks again for you help, It seems I am lost.
