Wii freezes at data management screen

First of all, thank you to everyone who has made so much information available. I never would have dreamed 'soft modding' was possible, and I can't believe I managed to do it myself, too.

This is my first post so I won't be surprised if I get flamed here... but after searching, I found no relevant results; no one seems to have the same problem:

My wii freezes when I go to data management. I want to free up space, but I can't access it. Is there a hacked update I need to install?

    Many thanks!

It's the Wii memory. I came across posts that said don't go to the SD screen or it will make the data management screen freeze when you go to it--so I reset the wii and went directly to data management (wii system) and it still froze.

Channels management specifically? Take out the sd card and try your data settings again. If it didn't freeze the issue is likely the Hackmii installer being present on the sd card. Remove the folder sd:/private/wii/title/aktn from the card and your freeze will be gone.

channels works fine, it's save data--> wii that freezes.

I'm bumping this thread up because I also searched for hours about this same problem with no results. Channels works fine for me, it's the Wii save data section that freezes up. For me, I think it started happening when I used RawkSD or the Rock Band DLC, because it worked fine before that. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wads, and the result was the same. I only have 250 blocks left so I haven't done anything since. Is there any solution to this or am I just going to have to format the Wii?

Interesting; I've also used the Rock Band DLC hack.
