    TVersity, Drivekey, and System Update

    Hello everyone! Total newbie here.

    Got some questions. I've tried searching the forums but can't seem to find the answer.

    I'd like to install the Tversity program to stream multimedia to the Wii.

    But to do that I have to go to the Wii Shop Channel and get the Internet Browser.

    When I go to the Wii Shop Channel, this is what it says:

    "There is an Update to the Wii Shop Channel. To receive this update, go to Wii Settings and select Wii System Update. When you return to the Wii Shop Channel, you will receive the update. Come back after you've updated."

    I'm not sure what to do. I have a Drivekey v1.0 and my Wii is 4.2u.

    Will this System Update disable the functionality of the Drivekey and or even mess up the Wii?

    Thank you so much for your response, and please forgive me if this was asked already before and I missed it.

    Use homebrew app Mplayer CE and it's SMB share feature. TVersity sucks big time due to 12FPS and poor video and sound quality. I know as I tried it.

    Tealc,

    I have Homebrew and Mplayer CE 0.75 installed but I couldn't stream the video from my PC.

    Here's my configuration of smb.conf:

    #Samba share1 (smb1:/)
    ip1=192.168.1.101
    share1=D:\Pinoy Movs"
    user1=
    pass1=

    #Samba share2 (smb2:/)
    ip2=192.168.1.101
    share2=
    user2=
    pass2=

    The IP in my pc is 192.168.1.101 and I'm trying to stream the movies in my E:\Pinoy Movs\ drive. Is this correct?

    I followed the direction from here:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/submit-artic...rsity-etc.html

    Also the reason I want to install TVersity is so I can go to the net.

    Thank you for your help.

    Change the name of the share to the actual share name.

    eg.

    I have a folder c:\downloads\My Stuff\TV Shows which I have shared with the Network and it is named TV Shows, so my share is thus:-

    share1="TV Shows"

    I have another share that is d:\downloads\Films and that's shared as Films, the share for this is called

    share2=Films

    I could have a folder c:\stuff\my things\abc\doobey\everything\creation and call it Greg, my Share would be seen as..

    share3=Greg

    Folder information is irrelevant with Network shares.

    Thanks, I will try that. I'm going back and forth between my cooking and the wii, then on the net, and my laundry down the basement.

    Don't know which one to concentrate to. Will let you know when I get it going.

    Thanks again for quick reply.
