Lets take it that you have saved everything from your disk on a PC (better way is to use 2 USB drives and WBFS will copy the WBFS games across easily and back again after you have done the following).

    1. Remove all partitions using Disk Manager on the PC.
    On XP this is Start/Control Panel/Admin tools/Computer management/disk manager
WHATEVER you do make sure that you are looking at the correct drive and not a PC drive otherwise you'll screw up everything. You should be able to tell by looking at the disk size , or file explorer.

    2. Partition the USB drive as required - perhaps as suggested try 500GB and another 500GB. Disk manager will ask how much you want to partition for the first one and use the remaining for the second partition.

    3. Make the first partition active but DO NOT format it

    4. Format the second partition as NTFS. anything can be stored here, even iso but the Wii cannot access for games, only for files, or using media player.

    5. Run WBFS to format the first partition

    6. Use WBFS to load the games back from whever you stored them, either ISO , or from a second WBFS drive.

Providing the disk is OK and, according to the opther post, 500GB is OK all should be well.

As far as I understand it, the Wii must have access to the first partition, but theoretically you might be able to use a second WBFS partition as a sort of backup to copy back and forward from first WBFS to a second WBFS but I prefer to use a completely separate drive.

You might want to do some searching as there might be a couple of IOS Hacks you need to make the game work. I had to do that to make my Smash Brothers work. Just an idea but maybe you will want to search for that.

I have the legit Wii fir plus on my WBFS drive but I used uloader. If you haven't used it before, you put the DVD in the Wii drive and in uloader click 'add program' and it just works !

i am in a pickle, I have reformatted my drive and divided my partitions as suggested, but the same thing is happening? i go into usb loader click on a game and if the hard drive dosnt feel like playing it wont! and it will freeze! then if i restart the wii and try again it works? it happens randomly and i dont think it is a game issue, because it seems to happen anytime to any game? this is really annoying! i wanted to load of a usb loader so it would be quicker and less hassel! but this is horrible!!

    can anyone help?

I have a WD 1TB drive with NTFS partitioned at 500 gigs (for movies, music etc) and WBFS partitioned at 500 gigs for wii games and have had no problems so far. It may be a hard drive issue. Also...I use wii flow for the games and MPlayerCE for the media. Im not sure what your using but hope you figure it out.

    Ok, I'm a Newb here.
I have done several searches and considerable reading through the forums. I am no stranger to forums and have been very active on a popular RC forum so I don't want to break any rules of edicate, but....
I just finished with the softmod of my 3.4U Wii console with the help of Doggeggs awesome tutorial. Everything went perfectly and I have transfered all my games to a WD 360 Gb USB HDD with one 250 Gb. WBFS partition and one 60 Gb. NTFS partition and they seem to load and play fine.
To my question about USB Loader GX. In the settings configuration, when I enter the Custom Paths section and click on any of the choices, (mainly to store cover graphics) I get an Error and I can't change from SD: for any choices. Does the NTFS partition need to be FAT 32?
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Bud
