    preloader 4.2 question...

hey everyone, i'm on 4.2 and i've installed hbc, dvdx, bootmii as an ios and got my usbloader up and working all fine. i have been installing some wads for wiiware titles and am also trying to find some good forwarder channels for emulators. i dont want to go crazy installing wads unless i have preloader installed because i've read here that it can brick your wii. the tut makes the preloader install sounds a little sketchy, so just want to make sure i'm 100% on this before i go ahead with it. wondering if this sounds about right...

    - put IOS70-64-v6687 [Patched][FreeTheBug].wad on my SD card, where?
    - start wadmanager, load from SD card, install.
    - find the preloader app (without icon) on HBC. load it.
    - read instructions. hold down B and press + button. for 249.
    - when done, reset wii and it takes me to preloader menu.
    - goto "Hacks" and check - block disc update and region free.
    - goto setting and change autoboot to system menu.
    - reset.

EDIT - QU: Also, i put my nand backup and bootmii folder on my pc after using the 4.2 tut. I then studiply erased my bootmii folder from pc (not nand) so now, i cant get it back. Qu. is... If i just download the first pack again and reinstall bootmii as an ios and restore that bootmii folder to my SD, is that ok? i'll make sure not to delete it again this time. Thanks. and happy new year all...

You need not install BootMii again - You deleted it from your PC not your Wii

    - start wadmanager, load from SD card, install. Start the Wad Manager and use the default settings (IOS249 and SD Card) and install the file above.
    - find the preloader app (without icon) on HBC. load it. After you have installed the file above, you will find this app in the HBC menu
    - read instructions. hold down B and press + button. for 249.
    - when done, reset wii and it takes me to preloader menu.
    - goto "Hacks" and check - block disc update and region free. You will need to make sure the Hacks.ini file in the root of the SD Card is correct to see the hacks availible.
    - goto setting and change autoboot to system menu.
    - reset.

thankyou for the speedy response. i'll try installing preloader tomorrow. just wondering, cause i deleted the bootmii folder from my sd card also. so if i press home at the HBC screen and choose the launch bootmii option... i get a blank screen.

You will need to follow a few steps to get the BootMii folder on the SD Card again, but it is no biggie.

    Code:
A1)GET THIS and unrar the contents in the root of your SD card. In the root of the SD card whould be:
    root:\apps
    root:\private
    root:\wad
    IOS38-64-v3610.wad
    IOS70-64-v6687 [Patched][FreeTheBug].wad
    boot.elf
    Hacks.ini

A2)Run to your wii, place the card in the SD slot and navigate to the SD card icon, bottom left, writes SD and has the same shape, can't really miss it. Once you did this, a warning screen about scams should appear, press ok, screen will go black. A disclaimer shall appear, press one to continue.
(note: following my guide you will never get an upside down HBC. If you ever find the HBC upside down, run this installer again and install HBC again)
From here you can install HBC, DVDX and BootMii. You need not install anything else. The only thing you need to do now is select BootMii and select "Prepare SD Card".

Once this is done, the BootMii folder on the SD card will be back and BootMii should work from the HBC. There is No Need to installed anything, simply prepare your SD card/

Hey, I'm a little late but thanks for your help with the priiloader clarafication. Just did it yesterday and I'm having trouble with an autoboot issue now but I've been searching the threads and I think I need to downgrade to v.1. autoboot is set to system menu but it starts priiloader first when i turn on my wii.
