    Removing usb hdd freezes wii.

    Hi guys!

Great community here, lots of valuable information and helpful members.

I followed the Dogeggs guide for softmodding my 4.0e wii and its working great with usb loader gx.

There is one problem however, when my wii is turned on, even if its just sitting at the menu screen, removing or switching off my hard drive causes the wii to freeze and output a low monotone sound where the only solution is to switch off from the console and turn it on again (the first time it is turned on again it fails to turn on which scared me to hell the first time it happend, it turns on ok the second time though)

Does anyone know why this is happening? And if so how can i fix it?

    cheers guys

Don't remove your HDD while the Wii is switched on, it really is that simple. I don't remove mine from the Wii unless it is switched off for reasons exactly like this.
