DVD Dumper--Hold my hand and walk me through this...PLEASE!!!

Hi everyone. I couldn't find what I was looking for on this topic, so I either really suck at searching, this question is ridiculously simple, or no one has ever had this problem ever (haha unlikely) so please help me out here.

I'm trying to get cIOS-DVD-Dumper_v1.2 to work and I understand that I need to do a few things. From what I understand, I need custom IOS 249 installed by way of loading it through HBC and THEN I can run DVD Dumper. I am a little confused as to which ciosNUMBER_REV I need so I have tried a bunch, specifically cios36, 37, and 38 and a few rev #s.

The problem is that whenever I run the cios "boot.dol" file, I get the screen and it says that I can move left/right on the d-pad to choose the IOS number and then confirm my selection by pressing "A" on the wiimote. So far, EVERY TIME I do this I can NEVER push A. It just does not respond and the wiimote seems to not respond (it just lights up all 4 lights at the bottom and blinks for a second or two). I have been able to get it to respond and let me push left/right once, but then I am not able to push A.

Is this a common problem? Can anyone help me out here? Is there a common solution to this problem??? Every video/guide/tutorial I have seen on the internet with regards to DVD dumper focus on actually using the tool and not the prerequisite setup you need to be able to install it.

Somebody please help me.

Sorry not really helping I use a usbloader to dump my discs to a WBFS formatted drive, then extract the iso on my pc. Its also a lot faster than dvd dumper.

Hi KaiEnix,
I'm a newbie here and was searching for info on backing up Wii games. For the USBLoader, do you need to have a mod chip? I have the Homebrew channel installed, but not sure where to go from here in regards to backing up my games.

This is what I do as well. If you have a USB drive and your Wii, there is no quicker, simpler method. PERIOD.

I was just going by what the installation directions were after I purchased the Hombreware where it says

1. Using your computer copy wad folder and apps folder to your SD card
(Put at the root of the SD card)
2. Go to to Homebrew channel once again and select Wii_Dumper_1.2-DUMP.wad

(hit + key to install)
3. Start the dumper program from the main menu.
Select Wifi Network Backup by pressing left and right on the controller on the first screen
4. Select the game type - usually Wii Single Layer
5. On your PC/Laptop , open Firefox (IE may give errors -10056) and type in the link the Wii gives you
6. Wait 2-4 hours and you have a ISO for yourself (dependant on your wifi speeds)
7. Copy the ISO file to a DVD-R using imgburn at 2x

but there are no WAD files for the DVD DUmper, so I was a bit confused. Any ideas?

Hombreware isn't the mod to follow and can be harmful to your Wii.

So the link you provided above is the best one to use?
Does it matter that I already used Homebreware to install the Homebrew channel and backup Launcher?

If you've already done or started it, go with it. Mixing and matching mods is a "no-no" far worse than completing a single one in particular. I'm just saying you may (or may not) have problems...

Okay, so if I stick with what I"m doing, how do I go about setting up the DVD Dumper. The download doesn't include any WAD files or anything.
