Burn ISO > Using HomeBrew

Hello Everyone,

Problem Statement: Can't play Burned DVD-R containing ISO image.

Used the following Instructions to install the HomeBrew Channel:

At this point, my Wii has continued to work like it did out of the box. I'm still able to play the game it came with, Wii Sports.

However, I've downloaded a couple games (.iso) and burned them using Nero 9 as ISO Image, and the Wii says it cannot read the disk.

I've tried to read the CD using NeoGamma and Homebrew channel with no luck.

Can someone please point me to the correct thread to follow or help me get some of the .iso files i've downloaded playing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

if it is new it may have the d2-3 chip, making backups from disk useless. gotta use sd/usb devices.

What are the first four characters of your serial number?
There's a chance that you have a D3-2 Drive which prevents DVDR Backup Loading. Only option softmod wise is to use a USB Loader.

First 4: LU72

There is a 68% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.
And there is also a 16% chance the chipset is .
And a 8% chance the chipset is Combined GC2-D3 with no drive chip.
And a 4% chance the chipset is GC2R-D2A.
Lastly, a 4% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C (v1)


There seems to be a good chance its a D3-2 Drive. Make sure you're burning on high quality DVD-R at 4x. As said before, if you do have a D3-2 Drive, you'll need a USB Loader to load from a HDD.

Advantages of USB Loading
-While DVD Backups load at 3x (half the speed of originals), USB Loaders go at full speed.
-Since the junk data is removed from the iso before it is installed onto the hard drive, space is used more efficiently.

Simple WBFS File Manager is now Wii Game Manager (USB Loader GX)

At this point, all I have is a 4GB SD Card. Will USB Loade work with that? I'm going to do some searching for USB Loader Tutorials. Thanks for all your help.

neogamma will work with the sd card as well.
