    Softmod AND hardmod

    Hi guys!

    Great site, thanks!

My question is: my Wii plays backup games and I don't see any Homebrew channel, so I guess it has a modchip. Can I also softmod it, or is there some kind of incompatibility between soft and hard mods?

    Happy new wii-year, everybody!

My Wii is hard-modded, and without thinking I soft-modded it following the guide on this website lol but it works even better than it did before.

By the way don't ask me what mod-chip it is etc because I don't know I didn't do it lol. I think it has something to do with "WiiKey" whatever that is.

Alot of ppl wind up doing both and it can work very well. Softmodding requires a more patient hands-on approach, but it can give you more control over what is being installed onto the wii as opposed to nintendo installing whatever it wants when you have to update.
