Few (minor) issues with my freshly softmodded wii
I recently softmodded my Wii using Dogeggs's guide.
Everything seems to work quite well, however I have a few minor issues.
The first one being when turning the Wii on it sometimes shuts off again about 5 seconds into booting.
This happens completely random and not very often, about 1 out of 10 boots, and always boots properly turning it back on after it has shut itself down.
Some things went slightly wrong during the softmodding process, first thing being Priiloader failing to install because it couldnt read a file from my SD card.
Rebooted and tried it again and it went fine the second time around.
Also during the process I was looking around in HBC and the system to just froze up on me and required a reboot, either that or the wiimote became unresponsive.
The main thing I'm worried about is the random shutoffs while booting, and whether something went wrong during the softmodding process that could cause this.
Although it does seem to work fine for the rest, can boot DVDr's using NeoGamma perfectly and HBC works fine as well.
Priiloader works too, so no issues there.
Only thing that bothers me is HBC contantly asking to update.
The guide says HBC shouldnt be updated, but dont know whether that still applies after the softmodding process is complete.
If I shouldnt update HBC is there any way to disable the update warning?
Anyway, hope some people can clarify some things for me
PS: I purchased my Wii at launch and its an European model, running 4.1E when I softmodded it, dont know if that makes any difference though.
u CAN update the HBC after the softmod process is completed.
