Oh noes.. What have I done, everything works great, now with more info...

Hi all. I have a softmodded wii and am able to play games on disk no issue. I recently got a usb hard drive and installed usb gx loader and it works great as well. I am not having any issues at all really.

My question is, how do i know what i currently have on my wii. I installed the HBC and backup launcher using some files that a friend gave me a long time ago. Another friend sad he had some updates that allowed previous games that had issues to work. He took my wii and installed those. Now all games that i have tried work great. I have read through the tutorial on all 3.1-4.1 wii's and like the idea of having the NAND backup as well as the priiloader.

How can I tell exactly what i have installed and what versions they are. I know that neogamma is like r7 and i just installed the usb gx loader the other night so i am pretty sure it is current. Not sure what IOS's i have but i am pretty sure i have 249.

Thanks for any advice or info you can provide.

    -edit-

I found the guide that i used back in the day to soft mod it. The guide starts on step 5.

Step 5. Go to Data Management then choose Channels then the SD Tab

    Choose "Yes" to load boot.dol

You will then be at a screen with red, yellow, and white text.

Press "A" on the WiiMote and you will see a list beginning with WAD.
Step 6. Arrow down to DowngraderIOS35.dol (2nd from the bottom) and run it by pressing "A" on the WiiMote.

NOTE: It is at this point you must be connected to the internet.
Step 7. Choose downgrade IOS35 and then let it go, then choose exit (ignore the patchmii and dvdx)

You will then be back to the screen with red, yellow, and white text. (Push the"A" button on the wiimote)
Step 8. Go down and run Wad Manager 1.4 by pressing "A" on WiiMote.

Hit The "A" Button (till you end up with a list of files beginning with HBC.WAD)
Step 9. Arrow down to IOS35.wad
    .

    Hit The "A" Button

(till you end up with a list of files beginning with HBC.WAD)

Then press the HOME button on the wiimote
Which will bring you back to a screen with red yellow and white text
(Push the"A" button on the wiimote)
Step 10. Arrow down to BOOT2.DOL
Push the"A" button on the wiimote till your back to a list beginning with HBC.WAD
Step 11. Arrow down to CIOS-249.wad
and press the + key on the wiimote
Push the"A" button on the wiimote till your back to a list beginning with HBC.WAD
Step 12. Arrow up to gameplayer.wad
and press the + key on the wiimote
Press the"A" button on the wiimote till your back to a list beginning with HBC.WAD

NOTE: If you just want the gameplayer on your Wii you can stop here .
Step 13. Arrow up to HBC.wad
and press the + key on the wiimote
Press the"A" button on the wiimote till your back to a list beginning with HBC.WAD

    Press "Home" to exit.

You will now unplug and replug in the power on your Wii to find that Backuplauncher and Homebrew Channel are installed and working.

Here is the email response i got when the second person updated my wii. Looks like it was only IOS and neogamma. Does that look correct?

    a) If you are on system menu 4/4.1 use Wad Manager with default settings (IOS249 & SD card) to install IOS60-patched.wad

run Wad Manager 1.4, use default settings (IOS249 & SD card) and install these wads from the 'wad' folder:

    IOS38-64-v3610
    IOS50-64-v4889
    IOS53-64-v5149
    IOS55-64-v5149
    NeoGammaR7

Then just restart your Wii. Ta-da!

I really want to understand what was done to my wii before i start doing other things. Would it be safe to make the NANd backup on my current system? Can i go ahead and install priiloader without worries? This stuff is really interesting and i just want to learn more but need to understand what I have currently.

Ask your friends what you have since they did it? you are kind of at their mercy till you read some guides that explain stuff
