    Thanks.

Okay, I think I'll borrow a friends NSMB. I've not played any out of region games or messed around with that. So there is no chance of NSMB updating my system to 4.2 and erasing all homebrew or bricking the wii?

NSMB has a 4.1 update so there's no chance of it updating you to 4.2, it would remove HBC but only the older HAXX located one. so provided your HBC is up to date it'll be fine.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

My HBC is fairly old. I just looked and it says version 1.0.3. I've never got a dialog box for updating the HBC, can I update it manually? I don't know what HAXX is, care to explain, please?

I appreciate your help, thank you. =)

Argh, I have a new problem. In VC games and others, when I go to the Wii home menu I get dead pixels. I've heard of this problem before and they say launch wii's have a defect heatsink which causes the GPU to overheat. This is clearly their fault, do you guys think Nintendo will replace it even if its out of warranty? Should I virginize it first?
