    Homebrew channel problem

I bought a modded wii for my lad this xmas, now i can play games from the hdd fineand install to the hdd and play movies from the hdd, I can also play music from the hdd, but it is very slow at loading the music ( but thats another issue ). My problem is i cant get the Home Brew channel to load up, it says " Attempting to mount usb device - unable to mount, Attempting to mount sd card - unable to write to card - wrong size" I have left it for around 20mins now and it is just repeating the same problem.
    Any help would be great.

Evidently homebrew channel is looking for an apps folder to load the apps from. This is usually on an sd card formatted to fat32, someone may have changed it to read from the usb device, where there is no apps folder. then it cannot find what it needs on the sd card. Is there an sd card that whoever modded it left inside the sd slot?

yes theres an sd card in the slot, as i thought this is required to be in at all times for the usb loader to work. is it that i need to load some files onto it, like i did when i updated the usb loader.

Sounds like something may have gotten damaged, like the wii ability to read from the sd card or the sd card itself. Although i would think it would just show up with no list showing, not keep searching for the apps. Are you sure it is the correct sd card, or did someone do something to it?

Ran into kinda the same situation, I have firm 4.0 and when in homebrew to access I get no files yet the system acknowledges the SD card, any ideas?

    thanks, frustrated beginner

was it files on the sd card that needed updating?

    Try this:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...y-4-2-wii.html

Try re-installing as suggested in this guide.
