    cIOS38 rev14, can't overwrite rev3867

    Hi,

Sorry if this has been posted but a search didn't find me results.

I'm running System menu 4.2 with Homebrew channel and USB Loader GX. When I added the USB Loader GX forwarder from my Wii menu I can't seem to launch it - it will load up and display the logo for a brief second then restart my Wii. Loading USB Loader GX from the homebrew channel works just fine. I did som research and I assume this is a known issue with outdated cIOS38.

I have some issues trying to install cIOS38 rev 14. I load the installer through the homebrew channel and it says it successfully installed the cIOS38 rev 14. Whenever I check it from signCheck however, it will still display as: IOS38 rev3867.

I even ran the older cIOS rev 13b to see if it would change but signCheck still outputs the same result. It's as if it won't allow me to overwrite. Any help is much appreciated.

To stay on the safe side you may wish to start over and Make your Wii a Vigin again, and then follow the Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus!!!!

Thanks, but are you sure that's really necessary? I have a feeling there's another way than starting over.

More than likely your cios situation is fine. It would make sense if you took out the sd card or didnt have the app on the sd card and had the error happen when you click on the forwarder channel.

Okay, I was able to make a forwarder to the configurable usb loader instead of usb Loader GX. Works just as fine for me
