    What is BootMii?

    hey guys, i just wanted to find out what is bootmii and boot2, when installing the HBC, it asked me if i wanted to install Bootmii and i said no, but what is it anyway? i read this, but i didnt understand what it does

    its a recovery for the wii... it makes it so you can get to the wii before it loads and IOS and sys menu... so you can reloaded your NAND if you need to or other programs to get you out of a brick.... i would go back and install it if i were you.... and make a NAND backup if you did not already....

    i tried installing it before, and the first thing that happened when i turned on my wii is that it appeared..that was kind of annoying, i dont want the first thing i see to be the Boot Mii and btw what is the nand backup?

    A NAND backup is a backup of your Wii in case it bricks you can restore it to a full working state. If you don't want BootMii to show up during the startup process anymore, just remove the bootmii filder from the root of your SD.

    NAND = Flash Memory

    NAND = Wii Brains (lol)

    so let me get this straight, if my wii gets bricked, i use the nand back up..but how do i open the nand backup if it will be bricked, and how can i make a nand backup??

    BootMii as boot2 will load before the Wii System Menu, so no matter how farked your system is BootMii will still load [given you have the bootmii startup files on the root of your SD]. You then make a backup and then if your wii gets bricked you can restore that backup. The backup gets saved to your SD card, so make sure your card is 2gb at least, as a NAND is over 500mbs.

    is there anyway i can install bootmii but that it doesnt show when i startup my wii? can that still make me use the NAND backup if my wii gets bricked?

    Yes, as i stated before....just remove the bootmii folder off the root of your SD and it will no longer boot into BootMii at startup. If you want BootMii to startup again, just move the bootmii folder back onto the root of your SD.

    so the only way i can have a NAND backup is that if i have bootmii when the wii starts up, correct?
