    ext usb drive

    I have just purchased a wd 500gb ext hard drive.
    can i just put the games on the drive and also can i put films on the drive for my dvd player to read.
    what format is needed for the drive.
    this is the first time i haver used an ext drive

    i have found a guide and althouth i have not tried the games i have formated half my drive and put iso 's on.
    what the guide does not say is if it is ok for me to format the other half to put films on ?

    As long as you have 2 different partitions on your hard drive you should be fine formating the other half for whatever you want. Partitioning is pretty much like have 2 different hard drives in 1.

    I now have a problem.
    i have installed games on hard drive now after formatting all fine.
    i have installed was on wii but when i run it i do not get the menu of the games showing.
    also i have noticed that on my homebrew channel my list has now gone unless i have my sd card in?

    You gotta use the sd card for homebrew apps unless you hit the 1 button to change it to usb. If you are talking about another list that has to do with the loader, there may be individual settings. I would recommend trying wiiflow, been hearing good things about it. Also make certain the Wbfs partition is primary and active.

    The list i was refering to was when you go into the homebrew cahnnel you have a list re cios, snes player etc.
    i thought they showed up on the homebrew cahnnel without the card in or am i wrong here.
    my partition is active and primary that part went ok it is the loader that i do not think is working right thanks for reply

    Ok guys i can now run the loader but two things
    1 i have no covers for the games showing and when i click on the disc i just get a black screen and no game load
