older versions of bootmii did that If you can, try to update bootmii or at the very least put the newer files for bootmii on the SD card and try to restore.

This is usually the result of trying to use a nand from a system menu older than 4.2. like you are trying to use a nand from before you updated, this will not work. You probably forgot to run the ios70-patched so you will have to reinstall your system menu.

Download CB2_BB_Wad-Manager-1.4.zip and extract to a formated sd-card
    Downlaod IOS70-64-v6687 [Patched][FreeTheBug].zip and extract to sd:\wad
Downlaod 4.2u-RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v481.wad.zip and extract to sd:\wad
Download Prelaoder and extract to sd:\apps\preloader
Downlaod 4.2u-hacks.zip and extract to sd:\

    Hold reset and boot wii
    Click load/install
    load HBC loader
    From HBC, launch wad-manager
    use ios249
    Install ios70patched first
    then
    Install system menu 4.2u
    Reboot
    Load HBC
    Install preloader
    Hold reset and boot
Load desired hacks in preloader, especially disk update block. Only use the ones you want.

Thank you so much for that. that worked. and easily. just wondering though. do you have any hack files for that version that have a hack to enable the wii to run region free games for the wii? the one you gave me only had it for gc games.

You need to set this in your backup loader. Force video mode to your region or to 'console'.

stop all running processes in the background, reboot to refresh memory. use a program like imgburn or alcohol 120% to burn iso to a dvd-r at 4x speed.

Details details details. There are many types of trouble, but what is yours? If you are getting a disk read error #1053, give it up and load form usb.

If you are getting any other typed of disk read error, then it is a bad burn, bad media, or a bad ios

If you get a black screen you may need to update an ios

If you get any other color in your screen it is a region issue and you need to try other display settings in you loader, or try an iso in your region.

Even if that works perfect, disk loading sucks. Usb is so much better. Lose the disks.
