Hopefully a very simple noob question about retail games :)

OK so basically I just bought an aerosmith GH bundle because it was only $45 brand new. Aerosmith is a great rock and roll band but i wanted to play the newer guitar hero games (GH5, World Tour) as i had GH 1,2 & 3 for PS2. Well GH5 will not work (and no im not asking for help on that i got that i think : ) so i got a custom GH3 ISO and that worked fine (besides the horrible jobs on some of the songs) I am not a noob to the wii scene i have just never had a retail game after the 4 i bought with my wii when it came out.....

So hear goes i decided hey im gonna play that aerosmith game. I throw it in the wii and the disc channel says it wants to do an update before i can load it. So it loads fine using neogamma r7 rev14 IOS 249 but i was just wondering why it will not let me load the game from a disc channel. I mean its a retail game shouldnt it work?

I have a 3.2U System Menu Using Starfall.
So sorry for the noobish question its just i havnt had a retail game in my wii since i modded it using the twighlight hack and was using 0.3 gamma loader to load games.

Chicka chicka wicked guys/gals thanks so much for your time : )

Retail games contain disc updates, it probably detected an outdated system menu or IOS. Do not worry about the system menu is it is not required to run any game.

Though starfall is a bit outdated, you should have had enabled 'skip disc update checking' when installing it. I'd recommend Preloader as a better alternative or even StartPatch

I cant use startpatch because i am on system menu 3.2u ( i think starfall will only work on 3.2) and I readstartpatch that it will only work for 4.x system menus.
When I installed starfall i did check skip disc updates. My Wii has NEVER ever asked me to update until i inserted this retail game. So if say Aerosmith guitar hero uses IOS 35 maybe installing the IOS 35 wad will possibly take that update away?

I will research preloader and if that is compliant with my system menu how abouts do i go uninstalling starfall is it as simple as starting back up the app and following on screen instructions???

Cheers and tthanks for your fast response

To remove the starfall hacks, re-run starfall and remove the installed hacks. You can also re-install your system menu.

Preloader works with 3.2 and 4.X. Its more reliable than starfall, also note there is a release of StartPatch for 3.2
