Can they be loaded through a usb hard drive like the Wii games? I have a newer Wii so I can't load burnt Wii games, so I figure I can't load burnt Gamecube games either. Is there anyway to play them?

As far as i know you shouldn't be able to, but once i installed the mios, i was able to load from alot of loaders. these loaders also can load from other devices, i have never tested it though.
I'm also wondering the same thing
Well if it would work, and i'm not saying it would cause i don't know for certain. The wii only recognizes WBFS file system for it's iso files so i would think that's what it would have to be. You would need to have a Cios which is the key to playing wii backups to make use of the mios.
probably be a good idea to use an sd card or a flash drive, since they are usually smaller in size and easier to try all the different formats. Neogamma is launching my multi-iso disks and has played things other loaders couldn't. so that is where i would start. good luck and let us know how it goes.
Yeah, I'm crazy interested in this as well. As far as I've come to understand, there is no set USB Loader to run gamecube games, but I'd sure as hell be in it to win it if there were.
to answer your question "tooquick" if your Wii will not play Wii backups and is a new Wii then it will not recognise DVD-r which as you know is what we burn everything to. Therefore GC backups will not work either.
No softmod USB solution for loading gamecube games exists but hardmod WODE can load GC/Wii from USB.
