An unusual problem; playing originals in a new wii

    Hi Guys.

I bought a wii for the kids (honest )
My wii is shop bought and new un changed by me, but I am living in Egypt at the moment and bought it here. I was told it would play 'back up copied' games or originals form U.K.
I can buy and run back-up copies here.
But I have got an original wii-fit, form UK, and the original wont run. I also got an original MarioKart, which wont run so i know its not a disc fault.

The wii just doesnt see the disc, as if its waiting for a disc to be put in.

My question; Can a Wii play both originals and back-up copies, what do I need to do to allow it to play originals as well as 'back-up copies' which it already plays.

    Thanks

Sorry if I am not supposed to reply to my own post, but no one else did :P

The Wii I have has not got UK in the country selections, it has USA, amopngst many others, so I suppose it is an American wii? Is there such a thing?
It does say euro PAL on the discs I buy here in Egypt, but it may be just a copied image not an accurate information.

What format should I look for in the back-up copies I download to make them work? Is there such a thing as USA PAL?

Sorry for the noobie questions, I am really new to this whole Wii thing.

Thanks if anyone can help me.

You should be able to play original disks. You may be playing disks that are out of your region and updated to 4.2. This would have stopped the ability to play these games. you should be able to use gecko os from homebrew channel to play these games. installing homebrew is easy to do.

I tried to install homebrew by following the forum guides.
    When I try run hackmii v0.6 I see a message;

This installer can not continue there is no known vunareble IOS installed on this wii.

When I look in the settings I see the wii is version 3.2U.
This means I am not on the dreaded 4.2, right?
(I didnt use the guide for the 4.2)
When I use the guide for upto 4.1 it didnt install, so I downloaded the most recent file from wiihack.org, with the same result.

    Please help me install HB!
I really want to get the wii fit (original from UK) working, and being able to download backup's would be a bonus,

    HELP!

    thanks

You probably installed cioscorp, i hope it is what you wanted to do. Look through the guides section and there is a guide for your situation.

As I didnt getanything to run, I dont think I installed anything.
