    Errors trying to copy games

    Hello Everyone,

I'm a super newb; I just discovered yesterday that we can actually download and burn wii games on the computer. My friend told me to just download the files and use imgburn to burn the ISO file. Sounds easy enough, but when I actually tried to burn the ISO file, it always said error. Do you guys have any advices for a super noob on how to start successfully burn ISO wii files, and what are some things I should watch out for. Thanks for the help!

UPDATE: Okay so I finally successfully burned my first ISO wii game, and when I put it in my Wii, it actually shows the game screens. I was very excited, however, when I pressed "start game" the screen went blank, and it never load the game. Has this happened to anyone else before? and what can I do to fix it? Thanks!

    Question

what method are you using to run your backups? Eg., neogamma loader, usb loader gx, softchip loader, etc...
If you followed a guide to softmod your wii, which guide did you follow?

I hope you are not trying to run the backup using the official disc channel...

hmmmmm.... I just put the disk in my wii, lol thats how newb i'm.

I got my wii modified by somebody, and I been playing the copied games that I bought at the place where I got my wii modified. Therefore, I thought all I had to do was to burn the ISO on the DVD, since I been playing games ( from the places that modified my wii) on DVD-Rs. Did they did something else to their DVD-R other than just burning the ISO on the DVD-Rs? Thanks!

I just burned a Dead Space Extraction ISO files on a blank DVD and when I put it in my wii, it says that in order to run the software I must update my wii. ( Does that mean that the game I burned was going to work?) I got kind of scared and canceled it. Should I upgrade my system? Will the upgrade render my modified wii useless? I modified it during the summer of 2008. I'm running on version 3.2U right now. Any helps/advices would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

hrm.. maybe it'll be best to ask that somebody what you need to do to get it working. Also ask him how he/she modded your Wii so if something comes up so, you can provide more info while asking for help. lol

In the meantime, check to see if there is any new odd looking channels that you haven't seen before. Check for "loader" this, "gamma" that. I don't know what else to say right now. haha...

If you have no other reason than curiousity to upgrade/update your Wii then don't do it.

I got my wii modified at Taiwan. Its a store that specialize in modifying. I remember (vaguely) that he said after the modification I can play all the games, including all the different languages. He said something about updating but I forgot....lol. Man this is really frustrating because I got a modified wii and I cant burn my own wii games =[ I wonder what kind of chip he gave me.

if it is an actual chip and not softmodded. you will have to use the update from the game to get it working. unless you softmod, then you can install the ios files need for the game. as far as your burning issue, it's sounds like buffer underun errors. make sure your pc doesn't have alot of programs running in the background, and totally reboot to refresh system memory.

Are you talking about all my ISO copied games or just Dead Space that prompted me to update? I have copied some ISO games, but they dont work. Some of then dont even have the load screen, and one of them actually have the loading screen, but when I press "start" it freezes.

I think my wii has a chip, but how can I tell if its soft mod or chipped?

    Thanks a bunch!
