USB loaders - how many are there? and which to use ??

A couple of questions - as I start to understand the usb loaders

    I'm currently on 3.1u

The wii I acquired earlier in the week, apparently has two loaders

    1) Waninkoko's USB loader+cfg ( SD/USB loader 1.5+cfg2.0)
    2) NeoGamma R7,IOS249 (Rev. 14)

So...first off, are these loader OK to have, or do I need to get busy and start considering to remove these and install updated ones or something else altogether ?

It is interesting to note that some games, example: Dirt2 will not run with #1 but runs fine with #2 - why ?

Does everyone generally keep more than one loader installed - is that a common practice ?

As of now, between the two loaders, the handful of games I have seem to run fine but I'm sure I'll come across something soon enough that neither loader will be able to launch.

So, Based on the information provided - what changes can be made to my wii, from the loaders perspectives, to remain most compatible ?

It's OK to keep them on your Wii but like you said, some games don't work with the outdated loader. So, if you find a better alternative then why keep the old loaders around wasting space?

It is interesting to note that some games, example: Dirt2 will not run with #1 but runs fine with #2 - why ?
Many factors: loader has bugs, new copy protection not handled, blah blah...

Does everyone generally keep more than one loader installed - is that a common practice ?
I have 3 different loaders but my reason for having more than 1 is just so that I can help bug test. If not that, I would be happy with just one loader.

As of now, between the two loaders, the handful of games I have seem to run fine but I'm sure I'll come across something soon enough that neither loader will be able to launch.

I recommend latest versions of NeoGamma for loading DVD/USB backups and/or Configurable USB Loader for loading ISO/WBFS from SD/USB device.

Thank you SOOOO much for this feedback y'all ;-).

I will start to upgrade my two current loaders, and while I'm at it, I'll install the third on (USB Loader GX) - just so I have some experience with it.

BTW - can I safely assume that after installing the latest revision of loaders - errors such as the "002 error" will go away ??
