rar and zip files are just so the file is divided into parts for the upload, the real file inside is an ISO so its not really converting just unpacking, as for the dvds, i guess it depends on wii then.

vuze/azureus is a userfriendly app to dl torrent files.
Try to find torrents that match your region (though you can play others by adjusting the settings).
imgburn or alcohol are the best burn tools to use.
I use maxell dvd-r and imgburn on speed 1 (it corrects automatically to the lowest speed posible).
Never had a game that doesn't work.
I use utorrent and nero at burning speed 2X. Works the very best for me. I use verbatim DVD-R .
