I'm sorry but this post makes very little sense. What is it that you are actually asking??

When you have softmodded your Wii, you can install an external HDD drive that plugs into the USB port on the front of the Wii to read the games from there. of course, these would be image files of some description, and the HDD needs to be formatted in a particular way, but it should work non-the-less.

When you have finished softmodding, and you have your HDD installed and working, your SD card isn't required. It is however advisable to BACKUP your SD card so that you have the files/folders that you used to mod the Wii and also your NAND backup if you did one.

I do hope that I have helped, but I still do not clearly understand your post. What pics are you referring to when you say
dont see why i need to d/l the pics on the cpu and the wii

That is because WBFS manager does not put images on your hard drive it puts them in a folder. Look in your documents for a folder named WBFS Manager Covers. If you want them on your drive you have to have a fat partition for it and then point the program to it.

I am not really sure if the partition has to be fat but what I am sure is you need to read better.

Here is a tutorial for partitioning hard drive but if you already have games on WBFS you will most likely lose them I believe.

it is partitioned and its been formated with wbfs. this is what im asking and your telling me to read is

point the program to it HOW? thats been the question. i know where the covers are but windows doesnt reconize the drive to use but it does asign it a letter. so how do i get the covers from my cpu to the hdd.

ive played the games i just dont want to save the covers to a sd card. even if i did have to download them to the wii everytime i dont want to have to save them to the sd card.
