totally lost, newb needs help

hello
i have a wii that came with 4.18, i followed a tutorial to play backup games, i managed to install the homebrew channel, usb loader, uloader, loader gx.
i had my hdd working with cios36 rev.9, but some games ware giving me the error 002, or the green screen.
so i googled a bit and i tried to install cIOS38_rev14, but my hdd isn't reconized now and gives me the error -1, i think i messed up with the cios.
is there any way to clean this up and start over the right way?
