Each Wii has it's own encrypted keys. It's only possible to do this with an Infectus chip and a Wii that has a vunerable boot1 (ie. an older Wii where boot2 was installable but wasn't)
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Thanks Tealc, I was curious about this myself. I was sure you couldn't use one dump on another Wii, but I wasn't 100%.

It's a fuzzy area is NAND swapping Sour. It's not something we've seen a lot of success stories so far, although there was one chap recently who used Infectus successfully. There's also an app called Betwiin. To be honest I've never really retained any of the information I read about this stuff as it would only ever be useful to the very smallest minority of people.

Yea I've heard of BetWiin before, but as I never came across a bricked Wii as of yet, I've never had to mess with any of the un-bricking or restores yet.

Although I did just go into your Media Fire and downloaded the Universal unbrick Disc as well as the Nintendo official Wii Backup Disc. I just need to purposly brick a Wii and give these things a whirl. So any pointers you could give me would be appreciated.

The Wii I will be trying this on does have Preloader and BootMii as boot2 so regardless of my outcome, I will be able to fix it.

betwiin does work, but its not easy, and its VERY specific about the NAND that you are 'donating' to the bricked wii. Its an absolute-last-resort-pissing-in-the-wind type thing.
