I am not a hacker, programmer, game copier just a dad who would like his sons wii to be able to play dvds !!!
wii is 3 years old not sure what menu etc etc
is there a v simple way to achieve dvd playback without the chance of "bricking it" i could not do that to my son this close to christmas !!!!!

Works on 3.1 to 4.1 wiis. Follow the instructions and you wouldn't brick. Next time take a look at the index as it covers almost everything:
