my brother inlaws did that when it went bad, but it was the result of improper disconnection. he removed the drive while it was still in use. i would try other usb ports and if that doesn't work i'm all out.

how did you you format it (fat or fat32) because i you have it WBFS windows will only recognize it as a un-formatted drive and every time you plug it in, it will ask you to format it. Just "x" out and go into WBFS and you have to select the drive letter and then hit load..

if that does not work uninstall WBFS unplug the drive and go to window update and do all the updates even the non critical ones. and also make sure that you are on SP3 of XP... also i don't think you mentioned it but what version of WBFS manager are you using...

As for the first question I haven't modded the wii yet I was in the process of getting everthing ready. And I have the drive partitioned and can use the other partition. I'm gonna go to bed and mess with this tomorrow. I will try and redo it all with partition magic and see what happnes. Thanks for the help.

I created the partition with partition magic and set it as active or whatever the tut said then I used wbfs to format it. And I'm using 3.0 I believe. Ill post back tomorrow after I get some sleep.
