Us Getting USB HDD ready for WODE?

    Hey guys,
I'm getting a Wii for Christmas. I just preordered my WODE. I am about to purchase the Western Digital WDBAAR5000ABK-NESN Elements 500GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive. I will be using this Hard Drive exclusively for iso images to play on the WODE. If this is only for the Wii, do I still have to partition? I just read the topic on How to create multiple partitions on your USB HDD:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...r-usb-hdd.html

What would be the proper partitions for my setup? I appreciate the help guys. I've had experience with xbox modding in the past with a 200GB HDD and the Xecuter 3 Modchip, so I have alittle experience. Again, thanks for any responses.

i would consider leaving a little space for a fat32 partition as you never know what you may want. maybe cover art or something.

Thanks for the replies guys! I've got one more question. In order to play the isos I have to reformat it from NTFS into WBFS correct?

    Well in a nutshell.

    The WODE:

    - NTFS - Read only, works with Wii and GC ISOs, no ripping.
    - WBFS - Same as any USB Loader, read and rip, only works with Wii isos.
    - FAT32 - Read and rip, GC ISOs only.
    - Ext3FS - Pure ISO dump.
    - WiFi/SAMBA - Pure ISO dump.
